A couple of months back, Alpha Tube Co β Ductwork & Ventilation Specialists undertook a major structural support project for one of our long-standing customers, Martyn Tomlinson Building, at the Smurfit Westrock facility.
We manufactured seven universal cantilever arms, each standing 4.5 metres tall, designed to support a 1320 mm diameter duct. The system was engineered to safely carry the full load of a 20-metre-long duct section.
To ensure durability and long-term corrosion resistance, we set up our own powder-coating booth and applied a protective undercoat to each beam prior to installation.
The complete system was designed to take the full weight of the duct and lift it 700 mm in a single operation. Detailed planning and precise fabrication allowed the lift to be completed safely and efficiently in one morning.
The installation was completed smoothly and on schedule. The cantilever system now provides a robust, long-term structural solution for the ductwork, meeting both performance and safety requirements for the site.

Our team successfully completed the replacement of three large-scale extraction fans at Salford Royal Hospital as part of a wider initiative to improve air quality and ventilation efficiency throughout the facility. These critical systems help maintain safe, hygienic airflow in clinical environments, making the upgrade essential to hospital operations.
Client: Salford Royal Hospital (Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust)
1. Restricted Access to Plant Area
Access was limited to a small hatch, barely large enough to manoeuvre each fan through. Precise measurement and specialist lifting solutions were required to avoid building fabric damage.
2. Heavy Lifting in a Sensitive Environment
All work was carried out on a plant roof above active clinical areas. A detailed lifting plan, strict noise and vibration controls, and full coordination with the hospital estates team ensured zero disruption.
The project was delivered safely, on schedule, and without any operational disruption. The new installation significantly improves extraction performance, supports compliance with HTM requirements, and future-proofs air delivery across key hospital areas.

Weβre proud to announce our first major spray booth project! We recently supplied two 3-metre booths and one 4-metre booth for Franklin Products in Milton Keynes. One unit is ducted externally, while the other two are recirculating booths equipped with advanced filter systems.
All booths were fabricated, assembled, and delivered complete with fans, filters, and lighting. We also carried out the external ducting on one booth, ensuring a durable, weather-sealed connection to the corrugated roof.
This project marks an exciting step forward for us as we continue expanding our capabilities in custom spray booth design and installation.

We installed a large extraction hood and ducting system (11 metres long by 4 metres wide) as a local extract system for a work area, helping create a safer and cleaner environment.
The project was completed on time with excellent results and improved air quality for workers.
We manufacture and install high-quality stainless steel canopies, paired with full ventilation systems including baffle filters, ducting, and extraction fans.
